I have had many devastating events in my life such as losing a parent to suicide, divorce and single motherhood but each one of them has made me grow in ways that I would not have dared to if I were comfortable. Indeed, being uncomfortable will make you or break you but through God's Grace I have prevailed. God is my rock, He is the ultimate source of my strength and my 'self' is the real enemy.
Motivation & Passion
I would consider myself a jack of all trades when it comes to fitness and am intrigued by many different disciplines. Therefore, I have pursued many different types of fitness but have never become a master of one. Most recently my interest has been in learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Strongman and Powerlifting. I've also been studying some more "sciencey" stuff like heart rate variability, nutrition and intermittent fasting and their relationship to health optimization. Being in good health is not just having a low body fat percentage or great physique - it's so much more than that and it's found under the surface; in the way you feel in your gut and in your mind. How your joints feel during activities of daily living or your energy level upon waking or how you respond to stress. The list goes on but you catch my drift. I am pursuing a life where I can grow old and feel great until the day I die. I am pursing a life where I can enjoy walking outside and have my independence when I'm in my last year of life. I think that's what most people are looking for as well. I coach because health and fitness is a major part of my life (I've made my career out of it!) and I want to share that with others. True health and fitness is a journey that, if done wisely, can and will last your entire life. Every day should be a step towards progression and I'm here to make that step with those who are willing and determined.
